ENGLISH GARDEN TOURS (EGT1)
THE SEA GARDENS OF CORNWALL
Wednesday 21 April to Tuesday 27 April 2010
A taste of magical Cornwall. The valleys and islands of the Cornish peninsula contain some of the finest plantsman gardens in Europe. Tresco Abbey, in the Isles of Scilly, is world famous for its sub-tropical botanical garden. The valleys of Trebah and Glendurgan, like The Lost Gardens of Heligan, are rich in rare trees and rhododendrons, tree ferns and palms which create dramatic gardens to explore through changing levels and panoramas.
In St Ives the Hepworth Sculpture Garden and Tate Gallery give visitors a rich cultural experiences connecting art with the sea. Each garden has its own micro-climate and horticultural treasure and demonstrates the success of Victorian plant hunting expeditions as well as modern hybridisation. Together with the Eden Project, they make an unforgettable holiday for plant lovers from all over the world.
