RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW & THE SPRING GARDENS OF ENGLAND'S NORTH WEST

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, jewel in the crown of England's gardening calendar, the topiary at Levens Hall with a seven lake tour of the English Lake district, the laburnum arch at Bodnant and the rhododendrons at Tatton Park are just four of the unforgettable highlights of this week-long programme of English conversation classes and garden visiting.
The week includes the living history museum Quarry Bank Mill, one of the world’s first factories (1784) and the newly restored mill-owner’s garden.

Quarry Bank Mill, one of the world’s first factories powered by water and now a fascinating living museum of the Industrial Revolution. The afternoon includes the newly-restored garden of Samuel Gregg the mill owner. |

Levens Hall, a tower house dating from 1250 with an exceptional 300 year old garden - probably the most famous topiary garden in the world. |

Seven lake tour of the Lake District including a visit to Hill Top, Sawrey (home of the author of Peter Rabbit, Beatrix Potter) and Grasmere home to the English Romantic poet, William Wordsworth. |

LITTLE MORETON HALL & BIDDULPH GRANGE |

Morning |
English conversation class and garden briefings. Plant auction at Chelford Cattle Market before continuing to Little Moreton Hall, Britain’s famous timber-framed manor house with an Elizabethan knot garden. |

Biddulph Grange - a Victorian re-creation of the whole world inside the compass of a garden. |

Royal Exchange Theatre: Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw visit. |
