TRAINING PROGRAMME
30 HOURS GUIDED STUDY
PER WEEK:
ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING
(15 hours), focusing on lexis (vocabulary), idioms, phrasal
verbs and grammar points as requested. METHODOLOGY AND CULTURAL STUDIES
(15 hours related training).
Five three hour sessions including:

Educational visits
to schools and training institutions

Communicative
methodology for language teaching

Cultural
studies. Example topics - British Education System,
Multicultural Britian, Local Government, The Media, Women's
Issues
Study visits related to
cultural studies. e.g. Liverpool Museums of Slavery and
Emigration, Immigration and the New World, The Manchester
Jewish Museum, Quarry Bank Cotton Factory (1784) |
RESIDENTIAL / RECREATIONAL
PROGRAMME
Course participants live with local families and have the
opportunity to practise speaking and listening in a variety
of social settings. Also included are visits to theatres and concert halls, excursions (English Lake District, York, Wales etc.), sporting activities and relaxing evenings in local pubs and restaurants. |
